Adonis Poem by Teniola Olajide

Adonis

Rating: 3.3

Ageless sun, son of Homo
The sparkle in your eyes lit
A million lazing shrouded stars
Arousing warmth in the core of their embers

Built in agility, face of glossy pearls
The stars dream to be plunged in your strength
To yearn for more warmth, more rancor
Till they cry and shed tears of sweet wetness

Beloved of gods, you are a delight
Even in the cosmic temple of Aphrodite
You are the prince lurking in the heart of blooming young girls
Your beauty is likened to that of a fairy damsel
Adonis!

The stars told the tales of teary but blissful nights
When their puckered (w) hole was wrenched by your ramrod
How they succumbed to earthly passion
And writhed like flailing shred of garment

They spoke of how you taught them of unsung choruses
Of how they sighed and moaned clamoring for higher heavens
Begging never to be free from your pulsating throbs
They told of these passions by their blinking winks

Adonis!
A rrogant beauty
D esire of many hearts
O beisant to unsung lyrics;
N uke poised to set ablaze
I n the hope to revitalize
S ongs buried in the hollow of hades
