Advocates Of Light Poem by Asma Mejdi

Advocates Of Light

Rating: 4.5

Soul-hunters
Head-reapers
Flesh-shredders
Bone-choppers
Curse-bearers
Chaos-seekers
Blood-thirsty scavengers
Look at your hands,
mindless barbarians,
at TERROR's demand
they do but slaughter
to seize more land.
This is how you expand!
Attired the same as saints,
brutes at heart,
who at EVIL's behest,
ravage and infest.
YOU SAVAGES!
Robed in black,
bathed in sin,
without the least of query,
you slay
lest, WE,
the 'faithless', shall prevail.
Sowing death and dread,
everywhere you go it's
but blight!
Such is pest.
Hoarding trophies of limbs
and skulls,
as you embark on your sanguinary quest.
You are but immersed
in fiendish reveries
of your 'heaven',
come your eternal rest.
You kill and bomb your way up
to where you solemnly swear
you shall go, first.
Such a contest!
Knowing none can undo the done,
we shall never hide,
wimp out
nor run.
With our faith coursing
hot and loud our veins,
braver and stronger
we shall rise to collect the gains.
''ALL FOR PEACE, and
PEACE FOR ALL'',
hear us shout.
Such is our WAR-CRY.
Watch out!
We're coming up,
life in hands and
heads held high.
RIGHT is our ally.
You shall recede,
as we unite
and aim without cease
to defeat
all that you deify.
Your twisted version
of our PEACEFUL RELIGION
shan't never again see the light
as long as WE,
THE ADVOCATES OF LIGHT
are on mission.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Chinedu Dike 14 December 2015

An insightful depiction of horrendous atrocities committed by terrorists, who are brainwashed and blinded by religious bigotry and zealotry, well articulated and nicely penned in poetic diction with conviction. Indeed, light shall prevail over darkness as peace loving people unite world over in the fight against such dastardly acts of violence. Thanks for sharing Asma. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
