Afraid Of The Night Poem by Elizabeth Forrest

Afraid Of The Night

On wings of light
and breath of fire
your dreams are clouds
of cruel desire

Your wishes met
with blinded eye
your fears are flying
across the sky

When night time falls
and day is gone
you wish the dusk
would turn to dawn

As fear takes hold
and grips your heart
you find your world
has come apart

As night goes on
within it's spell
you find that sleep
has found you as well

So when you awake
with dawns early light
try as you will
with all of your might

You cannot recall
the things that were'nt right
that made you afraid
afraid of the night
