After Christmas Come The New Year Resolutions Poem by Dave Tanguay

After Christmas Come The New Year Resolutions

Rating: 5.0

Wishing for less confusion in the political arena
Politicians acting like a bunch of screaming hyenas
Less pressure on business in the corporate jungle
So afraid of a new merger - they just might bungle

Hoping to see less crime in the streets
A union of criminals and cops all walking the same beat
Hope to see an increase in wages paid to the working class
Those who do all the dirty work-and are looked upon as a mere
Jackass

Yes my new year’s resolution made in the good old USA
Will be to make the dreams of yesterday come true each and
Everyday
Auld Lang Syne a Scottish phrase meaning - the good old days
Let future generations look back at these days and give praise

The poet Robert Frost said there are no beginnings and no ends, -
Only middles
So let us jump aboard the middle of the peace train and with our
Friends we will cuddle
A new year is arriving let us end all hate and prejudice amongst ourselves
Let us begin the New Year with the love and peace left to us by Santa’s little elves
