After Everything, I Do Need You Poem by Lilian Chromious Eveson

After Everything, I Do Need You

Rating: 4.5

Revenge does not taste sweet,
yet not bitter at all.
It may satisfy my heart,
but it will not heal my anger.

You can hurt me all you want,
for the sadness that you gave me once,
made me cold and ruthless,
with no more passion to be felt.

The friendship and love that I gifted you,
have gone and burnt to ashes,
replaced with something far more cruel,
not enemies nor nemesis, just simply nothing.

Though I still harbor that regret,
of not doing what you did to me,
of not letting you feel betrayal,
and of not saying bad things at your back.

After what had been done and said,
plus having a converted and broken heart,
I still find myself saying something so sad,
like ' Please forgive me and stay wth me.'

To ignore the betrayal, what a good heart you must have! A moving piece of work.
