After Hastings

Erie country Oaks
rustic Irish lore
the fabled Giant’s causeway
legends to explore

After the invasion
After Williams War
the conquerors new religion
cultural catholic core

Irish pastel summer
overflowing with beauty
rites of Irish courtship
seeking ideal unity

shy forest girl
pulsates with pulchritude
she bends within wind
confident in her aptitude
natural flowing curves
unbound autumn curl
bottled and private messages
wild living girl

distant raging wars
drives of independence
granted are emerald sanctuaries
survivor becomes explorer

safety protects innocence
most picturesque glade
she is the evasive nymph
concealed amidst shade

supple, yet swift
fragile her grace
vigorous were his efforts
frolic compels chase

wounded warrior alienated
many warring years
binding is this countryside
dreams override fears

warm affectionate pleasure
her welcoming eyes
billows and high clouds
under azure skies

exhausted wounded warriors
pointless crusading tours
freedom toward the isles
forgot petty wars

throbs of pain
scars and duress
her skilled druidic hands
a soothing caress

the warrior amused
oaths without lord
he melts his armor
shatters great sword

her heart-shaped face
no displacing demands
she summons wild unicorn
enfolded their hands
