After The Fact Poem by Kewayne Wadley

After The Fact

In your absence,
The thought of you occurs,
Meeting the sun at the highest point in the sky,
I think of your smile,
How it rivals the sun, as there is no comparison,
Spreading joy to all those it meets,
Far away from fear, doubt,
A sweet caress from me to you,
As a smile suddenly spreads across my face,
As I know my heart sent your thought,
The tone of your voice,
As it echos between my ears,
Standing where I should be standing,
To caress you,
To catch the look of your eyes,
Before it lingers away,
As morning turns to afternoon,
And afternoon turns to night,
Sealed with the kiss of your thought
