After The Rain Poem by Sebastian Soberania

After The Rain

Rating: 5.0

the esmeraldas bend, pinks wet by the rain
which just finished its trip to the crevices of the earth
the honeysuckles spring on top of some trees
the bougainvillas crown the steel fence with blooms
the Hawaiian palms spread its leaves filled with drops
the thick rain leaves some spills along the sides of the road
water still runs as usual seeking its own level
i stand under the tree of fortune and shake its branches
my shirt is wet and i like this feeling of rain to come again
this urge to drink, this drops of rain feeling luscious to my lips
this face towards the sky, this mouth opening still wanting some more.
