After Years Have Come And Gone Poem by David Harris

After Years Have Come And Gone

As shadows fall over everything
I sit in my old rocking chair,
staring at our pictures
and remembering our happy days.
The summer of our youth
still brings back memories
of sweetheart waltzes
and the love you gave to me.
The things we did when we were young
and the tokens of love we gave.
They are still live in our memories
and remain with us day by day.

That our love still lingers
after the heartaches and pain has gone,
because so long as we have each other
the world can do us no wrong.
This is the prayer of every couple
as they meet on their wedding day.
That they have found happiness
that will see them on their way,
and their love will still linger on
after years have come and gone.
