POETS AND WRITERS WRITE AGAINST ARMS
But remain pathetic in approach and stay lukewarm
No one has dared to say a word about its implications
Where as humanity at large has remained in questions

It goes on unabated and in full production
We are all aware and helplessly watch inductions
The poor nations are testing ground for such weapons
But surely it affects a large community in persons

Not only has it cost country its valuable freedom
But lands in economic trap and comes out of it seldom
It is forced step taken in despair but largely under compulsion
As we have lacked courage and simple vision

Big fishes try to swallow small ones
It is daily business and concerns every ones
Who can bell the cat in this mad race?
We the intelligentsia to some extent on the face

In any set up national interest is supreme
Some of the steps are taken in situation considered very extreme
We are forced to hide with the fear of back lash at home
Such writings on part of writers then are not welcome

Some of the terrorist activities are looming large
They are misguided alright but driven at large
To take up arms against some injustice
Where there aspirations are not met and denial of promises

But large nations are not free from blame
They can’t take refuge under pretext but have to face the shame
When thousands are butchered for no fault of their doing?
No amount of persuasions may do any good for wooing

To protect national integrity is noble cause
Preparedness in that direction can be of good use
No one can be given free hand to dictate terms
Yet we got write to write something in turn
