imnt alive

(18 june 2007 / jannat e hasin)

agar tum na hote

duur kahin chal diye tum
talash e rustame manzil ki aur
na talash hoti na safar hota
na hume kuch khone ka dar hota

kuch pane ki tamana to thi hi nai
kuch khone ka b gum na hota
agar ye dil pathar ka hota
to pighla kar sona bna dete

dil ki dhadkan na hoti
dhadkan mein saanse na hoti
na koi talash hoti na koi safar hota
na hume kuch khone ka dar hota
kuch pane ki tamana to thi hi nai
na kuch khone ka dar hota

pyar na hoti mahobat na hoti
nafrat ke geet na hote
na milne ki iicha hoti
na beechadne ka gum hota

na talash hoti na safar hota
na hume kuch khone ka dar hota

na ehsaas hote na vishwas hota
na aansu hote na khushi hote
hume tanhai ka ehsaas na hota

agar tum na hote
to main aaj alive na hota
agar tum na hote

To season my fireside with personal talk.--
Of friends, who live within an easy walk,
Or neighbours, daily, weekly, in my sight:
