Ah Wisdom Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Ah Wisdom

AH WISDOM
Who scoff the truth will surely fail
Unknown God's Light in Satan's jail
True wisdom, is The Lord's to give
His gift of faith through which to live

Today, some think to know it all
Like Satan did before his fall
Better a fool God's truth to tell
Than be the wisest soul in hell

The worldly wise so plagued with doubt
Still don't believe what God's about
What eyes can't see, their minds despise
Yet quick to live with Satan's lies

It's not that God condemns the wise
He loves us all, and hears our cries
But not who think to know it all
Yet have no time on God to call

Are you then wise, or claim to be?
Has Jesus come to set you free?
Lay worldly wisdom best aside
Allow God's spirit be your guide

Come as a child, receive life's prize
God sees the heart of he who tries
Treasure Salvation answer God's call
Let true wisdom benefit all

The least in Christ, confound the wise
But this should be no great surprise
The wise man thinks no God to find
Just like the fool who's eyes are blind

Wisdom salutes the chosen few
Whose lives have changed through birth anew
They prove once free from Satan's jail
Wisdom in Christ will all prevail…
