Aids Poem by Alfred Mukenya

Aids

Everyday it reminds its victims
Of the loss of their innocence.
It reminds us with the lives it claims,
Of its lethal prevalence.

Our world will never be rid of it,
For so many lives it raids.
It isn't worth the instant pleasure
To live your life with AIDS.

You will never be without it;
It will procure your life.
But you must be strong, and carry on,
Withstanding all its strife.

You must live on with your mistake,
But do not become perplexed.
It is not your fault; you didn't know
Your life will be next.

So give its victims love and faith
For we all can make mistakes.
Lets stop and think before we act,
For once is all it takes.
