Alexander's Lovers Poem by Leaking Pen

Alexander's Lovers

Rating: 5.0

Oh Alexander how could you…
Reshape the isle of Tyre
With brutal force you build the causeway to Tyre,
And burnt and laid its foundations to tears
And slain its legitimate population
Who gave the world the universal alphabet,
And the prized Tyrian purple dye.
And how could Alexander put the torch to Persepolis,
Yet you could not erase Xerxes the Great name from the annals of history.
You decimated my voice: the East
Then with intimacy you declared in public your love to Hephaestion,
Who is my incarnation the day you laid you eyes one him.
For I am Bagoas spirit's of the East
Then from Alexandria you tried to forge one tolerant empire,
But your soul was kidnapped too soon by the wings of immortality
And you left behind Ptolemy to govern Alexandria
And her last queen Cleopatra lamented the loss of her heart
Once housed in the scrolls of her famed library,
And from you Alexander, Bush and Cheney took the wrong lead
And laid to waste my heritage from Mesopotamia to Pashtun
And now after ten years of utter destruction and decimation,
I am asked how do I feel about democracy bright star from the West
How could they forget that the Sun always rises from the East?
And the west knowledge basks in the shadows of its knowledge!
