Thankful I’m alive
Living, though in strive
Nervous yet confident
Made very evident

I stare with disbelief
There are others worse than me
I tell you I was shocked
How such men were being mocked
I sympathised with them
After all, my face they mirrored
Now I’m a different man
As though I was god send

I’m still alive
Happy to be
Living this life
For all to see

But still I see my past
Even though it passed so fast
I see that weakling face of mine
Begging for food, looking for coins

But now I’m changed
Life now arranged
A formal man
With a new stand
