All About Facts And Opinions Poem by Tushar Ray

My 6-year old granddaughter, Mya Ray
Got a boost for her budding intellect
From her after-school program today
Excitedly shared the following by evening:
Wearing a fireman’s hat
She began validating what she learnt
Took off her hat at first, saying
‘This is fireman’s hat, touch it’
I said OK, she said ‘this is a fact, right’?
I said, no question, when she went on
But if I say ‘My Raja is the best cat,
Then that becomes my opinion
Since, others may think otherwise, right? ’
I said, of course. Mya went on
‘Everyone agrees with the facts
But opinions vary from person to person’!
Suddenly, I felt that I need to
Introduce her to the transcendental reality,
Those modern scientists disagree upon
Due to intellectual biases they developed
During their early development process:
But for Mya to follow will be easy now
Due to acute mind-body feeling
That she already possesses
And in the days ahead,
Mya and I will have
Lots of fun together during the process!
