All But The Last Date Poem by Marilyn Lott

All But The Last Date

Don't worry, my friend, it is not there
The last date on our gravestone
We still have plenty of time, we hope
In which to pack our trailer and roam.

But we wanted everything in place
And no one has to do it for us
We wanted to get the words just right
Don't you think that it is a plus?

We have family all around us there
When we go to Heaven's Gate
Yes, we feel very comfortable knowing that
Things are in place, all but the last date!
