All Men Are Exactly The Same Poem by Matthew Leggett

All Men Are Exactly The Same

Rating: 4.0

Men haven’t got a sense of emotion,
They shrink from love like shadows from a flame,
They cannot give all of their devotion
To one heart, one face, or one name.
'All men are exactly the same.'

Men never want to make a connection,
(Except, of course, that they always do!)
They’ll tame you and add you to their collection
Of women they had, but never knew.
'All men are exactly the same.'

Some men, however, will love you for you,
Their one aim in life is to make you feel
Safe, secure, and special. These men will do
Anything for you, the love they give is real.
Not all men are exactly the same.

Just give me the chance to show which one I am,
Every day I’ll try to share with you
The happiness you’ve given me. I’ll do anything I can
To show you that this love, our love, is true.
I’m not the same.

Clever and direct, like a shot to the heart! Never mind that a man has written the poem. Read the poetry of Shakespeare, Browning, et al! Stereotypes can be all in one's mind, don't you know?

It suprises me to see that its a man that has writen the poem! 'They shrink from love like shadows from a flame' So very true but the end is great! Thanks for sharing, absolutely loved it.
