If you walk away,
My heart calling to you
Will bring you back.
And you won't go far
Before you see, without me,
Just what you lack.
I know a man
Needs time and space
To sort things out
When you return,
Just let it be
Without a doubt
After you've had a think
And maybe had a drink
I want you to be sure
That our love will endure
So, do what you must do
But when you're back,
I want all of you.
A resonant line indeed: ' I want all of you'. I hope that the man walked right back to you after thinking about it.
Ha-ha! Totally fictitious poem, Michael, as are so many of my love poems. But I do possess enough insight into men that I know that they require frequent periods of 'breathing space.' The subjects of this poem could possibly have just had a minor tiff. In any case, the woman is wise enough to realize that working things out includes allowing a man to 'do what he must do.'
Wonderful poem of love and longing. Thanks for sharing. My heart calling to you Will bring you back. That our love will endure
Thank-you, Rajnish! Thank you for reading, and for your positive comments and insights! :)
