All That We Can Be? Poem by Old Teenage Poems

All That We Can Be?

Rating: 4.2

Wars, deaths and destruction
Suffering everywhere I look
And no matter how much we gave
it was never as much as they took

Men in power
abusing, opressing
everything sorrounding them
each ruler more depressing

And although we speak of change
repetance is all I can see
Mankind was supposed to evolve
But is this all we can be?

usually when writing something like this using rhymes takes away from the sincerity of it, but that definitely didn't happen here, I love this!
