All That You Deserve Poem by Holly Jamestone

All That You Deserve

What to do when life escapes you
Brings you down to bended knee
Sideswipes hope and tries to trip you
As you search for where to flee

What to do when in a dark place
As the black moods grab ahold
Isolation robs your spirits
While you fear what could unfold

What to do is ponder gently
Where you're going, where you've been
Finding first the magic quotient
Only can you regroup then

What to do has always been here
Blinded by expired dreams
Mazes, dead ends, floundering life rafts
Broken love and tattered seams

What to do is pick your hope up
Hold it on your shoulders high
Dust your pride off, don't be stupid
Let yourself both grieve and cry

What to do is tackle feelings
Get beyond them, don't look back
Learn to crave self-preservation
Spare yourself from all attack

What to do is keep on walking
Stride and seek your newfound nerve
Don't accept a life of heartache, fight for
ALL THAT YOU DESERVE
