All The 'I's Poem by Kishore Asthana

All The 'I's

I live in two worlds or more
I dream at different levels
Of glory in this life and that
Of diamonds and such pebbles

My heart is large & it is small
My brain is sharp & blunt
I worship at the shrine of life
I sacrifice at the hunt

I am but human born
Black and white is my psyche
Sometimes demon, sometimes god
Sometimes both alike

Look not in me for logic cold
Look not in me for reason
One man's cry of freedom is
Another's basest treason

They fight in me, my many selves
A mirror of humankind
Rare is one who bears the torch
Of vision for the blind
