All Things Being Equal Poem by tony haynes

All Things Being Equal

All things being equal
Let’s bring balance into play
Let’s swing from left to right…

…In the light of day

Then in the
Heat of night
In a chilling
Near mythic entrée
Give back all this world has taken away
So white & black become gray - with this twist…

Black without white can no longer exist
Equilibrium shakes the hand that makes a fist
It is vague but it is clear
No is yes and there is here
God blesses love and curses fear

Encourage me that I may find all I have lost
Quintessential that on food for thought I feed
Under nourished, we have scraped up scraps men tossed
All things being equal
Let’s divide the love we need
