You lead me on as if you liked me
My feelings for you are the same
And then comes the day I ask you out
You said no and went on your way
Why did you lie? Why did you pretend?
You left me out in the cold
My heart has stopped beating
Till I see your face
I know you just want to be friends
But I can't live with that thought
You say those words like everything will be ok
But as I stand by myself
In the cold lonely night
I tremble and shake
Then those awful words you said
Come back to memory
And then I cry cause I know that's
All we'll ever be
