Almost Done Poem by Kai Ford

Almost Done

Raised voices bring forth an awareness of your inner being
The meant to be's seem to fade faster than my anger
I suppress my doubts to cling to my hope
The hope of the used to be's and the hope of what could've been

But it's not enough to withstand the war that wages in the deepest hearts parts
My feelings are becoming like seasons, changing as days go by
A deep breath inhaled brings a new found courage to stick it out a bit longer
Until I know I have to exhale...for real...forever
