Almost Gone Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Almost Gone

The sun was blazing
I thought it was amazing
Afternoon felt so hot
I took care not to be caught

My love was new
It might have been blessed to few
I was one of the fortunate
I feel lucky here to relate

I thought of lovely moon
But it was to be faded soon
The silvery light was to pinch me hard
I exchanged last good word

He was almost gone
From my hand and damage was done
He was no more with me
Totally absconding and free

I was left behind
With world so unkind
I was so much exposed to find
As if made absolutely blind
