Almost Stands For Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Almost Stands For

Almost stands for

We are on dining table
Meeting first time as unknown people
Still hoping for two souls
To talk each other very well

I could not raise yes
Or try
To order for menu
As room was dark blue

"No, I need not fear"
Even if he comes near
Tries to whisper some sweet words
I shall not withdraw but look forward

"It is hot outside" he started
I could not decide so replied "yes"
He took courage and held my hand
We shall ever remain as friend too

I felt shy but did not try to come out
From the grip he tried to start
I was simply airborne
And feeling real heaven

Yes, it is pleasant surprise
That person starts with future promises
Reassures about safety
And almost stands for its beauty
