Alone and Empty
Building up chains around my heart
And sealing them with a lock
So afraid of falling in love
I put up a protective shield
But then you came and snuck your way in
And the lock you tried to break
Constantly I refused to let you win
So you decided to give up
Now that you are gone
I feel alone and empty
Nothing but pain where you once stood
Which leaves me a hopeless wreck

A nicely written poem Emily. No pain no gain. Thanks.
Nothing but pain. thanks. And in pain there is gain. It is love it is God.
I invite you to read my poems and comment.
U may feel hopeless, but this poem is not! There is great structure and emotion in this poem :)
