Alone In This Place Poem by Nick Downer

Alone In This Place

Once again,
I'm alone in this place.
This place of loneliness,
Where cold bites at you with,
Frozen words and,
Invisible stares.
I'm asked to leave the world,
Where happiness is,
A moderate temptation.
Here it is non-existent.
Too good for the darkness,
Not good enough for love.
You give me these words,
But I'd rather have you.
I'm stuck in this,
Dark abyss,
Until you decide to pull me out,
So that you can,
Push me over the edge again.
