Alone Togetherness



An overbearing silence
Rests upon us body and soul
As we relax in arms
Relieving the tension of
The day’s stresses

Just calm stillness no more
Enjoying only being together
Upon your lap quiescent
I am safe with you

Through this soundless time
I can cry out all my tears to you
Safety is in the two arms
That hold me close
