***alternative Rhapsody For A Queen Poem by Ian Bowen

***alternative Rhapsody For A Queen

Rating: 2.5

Is this a poets life-
Is this just fantasy-
Caught in a forum
No escape from profanity
Open your flies
Right down to your thighs and see-
I’m just a good poet, I need no sympathy-
Because I easily flow, words easy go,
A little high, little low,
Anyway those words flow, doesn’t really matter to me,
To me

Mama, just criticised a man
Put a pen against his head
Pushed the nib in, now he’s dead,
Mama, strife has just begun,
But now I’ve gone and written it all away-
Mama ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Didn’t mean to make him cry-
If I’m not blacked again this time tomorrow-
Carry on, carry on, only good crit. really matters

Too late, my ink has run
Sends quivers down my pen
Never been awarded a ten
Goodbye composition-I’ve got to go-
Gotta leave your fat behind and face the front
Mama ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, -(any way the verse goes)
I don’t want to try,
I sometimes wish I’d never written at all-

I see a tiny genius of a man,
Dylan Thomas, Dylan Thomas, will you do the welshdango-
Fern Hill and Milk Wood-very very enlightening
Ana Castillo, Ana Castillo
Ana Castillo, Pastanak-magnifico-
But I’m just an unknown and nobody reads me-
He’s just a prose boy from a schooled family-
Spare him the tripe of this pomposity
‘Easy come easy flow-, will you let me flow-
Arthur Miller! No-, we will not let you flow-let him flow-
Arthur Miller! No-, we will not let you flow-let him flow
Will not let you flow -let me flow
Will not let you flow-let me flow
No, no, no, no, no, no, no-
Mama Mia, Mama Mia
Mama Mia, Mama Mia let me go-
Angelou has a stanza put aside for me, for me, for me-

So you think you can out write me and shit out a lie
So you think you can shove me and leave me awry
Oh baby-can’t do this to me baby
Just gotta get out-just gotta get right outta here-

Poetry really matters,
Anyone can see,
Poetry really matters, poetry really matters to me,

A n y w a y t h e v e r s e g o e s.

Brilliant. An enjoyable parady by an obviously talented poet.
