Always The Same. Poem by crystal ruth

Always The Same.

Rating: 4.0

Everyday for her is always the same.
All the struggles, all the pain,
all the hurtful words, and all the pressure
to be someone, and to be something.

And each day she wakes
to feel the hurt again, as it never changes.
And each day she breathes to longer her stay
no matter how much she wants to leave.
And each day she eats to feel whole and to not feel empty
like the way she feels about herself.
And each day she sleeps leaving the world that surrounds her,
to enter a place of happiness for an escape.

Everyday for her is always the same.
She wakes to each day feeling hurt,
feeling lost, and feeling everything but happiness.

The poem is perhaps a reflection of the poet's state of mind. She has portrayed it beautifully. In this age of corporate competitiveness, the desire to make our children 'to be someone, and to be something' is taking a big toll, happiness from our children's mind.
