Am I Alone Poem by Ahmed Elbadri

I have never felt so empty but so loved
Pearing into my own eyes I see nothing
Just a dark abyss ingulphed with hattred
Yet I see a resue becon in the distance pulsating an S.O.S

I strain my eyes to see who could be sending it
Just like a star in the distance it is hopless to make it out
Incredibly and regrettably I look away with no thought of rescuing him
Just like a match I close my eyes and extingwush his cry for help

Closing my eyes gives me a thought
If I can't help him why should I be helpped
My heart starts beating like a jackhammer vibrating through out my body
As every beat vibrates I am reminded I am to die alone

I collapse like a building being demolished because of its flaws
My tears streak down my face filled with regret
I start to hear a voice embracing my body
With a broken body I look at the sky to see the voice but I see you

I stare in to your dimond like eyes and what I see shocks me
I see the man I left to die alone
I look at her and I ask why
She responds with a silky voice “because we are humand and deserve a second chance”

You have rescued my soul from the abyss
Inturn I give you my heart, In debting my life to you
Yet not because you saved me and not because you have my heart
But because I love you with every breath I take
