(am I Blinded?) Poem by Phil de Lange

(am I Blinded?)

Rating: 2.2

And so I watched
in awe
-submerged under the moon's omnipotent sea-
An outstretched fiend
hidden in the calamity of a
faceless twin;
calcified with dark passions

Rooted in the doorway to my thoughts
with fear
I stared to the passage, blue
in its mystery
as cold light skulked onto
this omen's portrait

'Cut out these eyes! '
(Am I Blinded?)

Deceitful mollusks of slimy
imagination
told stories of my
shadow; the stalking Prince quietly bound
to my feet

'Punish the liars, heathens of the mind! '
(Am I Blinded?)

This Shadow Prince
wiped clean his mask
-undead to murderous doubt-
pointing with milky fingers towards
the shackles that liberated
truth.
