Amigo Poem by J.M Berger

Amigo

A melody springs forth from your soul into your fingers
Your fingers are a blazing orchestra
Another song to move me to another place, a place of hope
However briefly, thank you
Know the good we could have done in time spent fighting
Through thirteen years, our deepest fears and desires
They were laid out on the table
All either of us wants is love or even just peace, but sometimes
We are Cain and Abel
I know you’ve got a tough life and a tested soul-
You don’t have to hide your romantic ideas
You know I’ve got a warped mind and can be a blind mole
Clawing away, unsure which way to get to where I want to go
I love you, I love what you’ve done
I love what we’ve got-
What draws us together like magnets…
I think it was duel contempt at reality
And the knowledge that we can still be great
Though it’s been so long since someone else has been
Creativity is our nativity, the foundation of how we believe;
Through thickest and thinnest to best keep us grinning,
The smart place to be.
