An Alluring Peacock Poem by Kavitha Krishnamurthy

An Alluring Peacock

An alluring peacock with copious pretty quills
Resides in the jungle, its heart full of credence
Eagerly awaits the first dropp of shower
Never does it renounce looks up at the sky
With so much endurance, lingers for the moment
Anticipates that the downpour will come soon
It does smell, the arrival of the drizzle
Performing a dance, radiating its emotions
Spreading its contentment with its widened feathers
Mixing its bliss with the rain drop
When those chilled plummet touches our lips
We too consume joy with the water drop
It satisfies our heart and is a delight to the eye
