An Angel Of God Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

An Angel Of God

A twinkling, gleeful and loving star;
Shining beneath a deep blue,
And amber sky through ages ever,
Surely an angel sent down,
From heaven for a noble purpose,
Anjeze Gonxhe Bojaxhiu is the name,
Her parents named her,
Gonxhe is rosebud, a little flower,
Twelve year old she was barely,
When her heart to Jesus dedicated solemnly,
Left home to join as a missionary,
A call within the call to serve poor,
And to fail would have been
To break the faith as it was an order
By Jesus as put down by her in her feel,
Walked and walked till her arms and legs ached,
And murmured, out of free choice, my God
And out of love for you, I desire to remain
With your Holy will and,
Did not let a single tear come down,
Unwanted, unloved and uncared people
She served and in the Home of the pure Heart,
Souls blessed to die like angels-loved, wanted and cared,
Clad in simple white and blue sari,
Brought smiles in many a face with her radiant smile,
Brought hope to the dying, the lepers and the hungry,
Helped the destitute and the starving by providence divine,
A little flower blossomed into beloved mother,
With a tender heart of caring and sharing,
She did ordinary things with extraordinary love,
Caring for the poorest of the poor,
She said by blood, I am Albanian,
By citizenship, I am an Indian,
And by faith, I am a catholic nun,
She is Mother Teresa, our Beloved Mother,
To one and all you are, indeed a mother
And I bow my head humble,
That you were sent down from Heaven,
To serve the least, the lost and the poorest of the poor.....
