An Atheist And A Cynic Poem by Francis Duggan

An Atheist And A Cynic

An atheist and a cynic he doesn't believe in prayer
Though nowadays his type of person is not rare
Yet amongst the religious zealots he knows how to survive
And he never break the law at the speed limit drive
He believe when he die he will be dead forever more
And no form of life beyond this Earthly shore
You will find all kinds in the World i suppose
And one person's weed to another is a rose
He doesn't believe that Christ rose from the dead
Or that Pilate's daughter got John the Baptist's head
He only believes what he himself does see
An atheist and a doubting Thomas and a cynic is he
And when told that Christ died for us on Calvary
His answer is you have to be joking me.
