An Ebbing Dream Poem by Steven S. Walsky

An Ebbing Dream

Kaleidoscope of colors
memories
swiftly passing before his eyes
momentarily smiling, grinning, frowning
memories of earthen tide

Time to move forward
past reflections
to silence the heart's tears
echoes of feelings, beseeching, imploring
spirits of past years

Still he see her
vision of perfection
his broken heart's needs call out
grasping not this ebbing dream
of heedless pleas
