An Enchanting Mermaid-Part 2 Poem by Jean Dament

An Enchanting Mermaid-Part 2

Rating: 5.0

You'll see an enchanting mermaid dipping & diving & swaying her tail,
Disguised to confuse one into thinking her a porpoise or whale,
Often she daydreams of being more free like the people she sometimes sees;
But her life is still playful & carefree;
And she's left alone for the most part from other prey;
As her dolphin friends warn her of danger; so she's then free to be on her way,
She'll swim down into the depths of the sea searching for pearls & shells among abandoned ships & coral reefs;
And luckily she's wise enough to keep those moments brief,
Often she's seen adorned with necklaces & wearing crowns of the lovely treasures she's found;
That bring her immense pleasure in showing them off to the sailors, who are out there too seabound;
While her bed is made up of a mass of waving, soft seaweed,
Mostly her life is joyous & free...which seems to be her life's creed.
