An Encounter Poem by Morgan Michaels

An Encounter

- boink!

Who are you?

Your fairy godmother.

What do you want?

That's immaterial. What do YOU want?

Are you kidding me?

Not in the least.

Well, then...a good review, some royalties, a run on Amazon-?

A good wha'...? Who do you think I am, Helen Vendler?

Forget it, then, nothing. Nothing at all.

Don't be naive! Everyone wants something. Early retirement? A new motorcycle? Maybe there's someone you'd like to have taken out?

Hmmm.

Well?

I'm thinking!

So, hurry it up, I don't have all day.

I wanna make the right choice. It isn't every day....

What an indecisive man!
