An Evening Walk Poem by RAJ NANDY

An Evening Walk

Rating: 2.9

AN EVENING WALK

On a Tuesday evening walking down Dwarka’s
Sector four,
I happened to cross a temple on the ground floor.
I saw a string of devotees buying flowers and
sweets,
As offering to the Gods perhaps as penance for
their misdeeds!
Those blessed sweets are distributed amongst the
baggers on the street,
With the hope of improving our conduct sheet!
Let us not worship the Lord for fear of retribution,
But out of love seek Him, establishing a two-way
communication!
Let us not visit the temple only for seeking favours
of the Supreme Being,
But for seeking His blessings to become a better
human being!
