An Eye For An Eye Poem by Maria Shaw

An Eye For An Eye

Two wrongs don't make a right
an eye for an eye
soon we'll all be blind.

Look behind the enemy lines
you'll be amazed at what you find
Dictators and Governments shaking hands
as land is seized at their command.

Innocents used as pawns
put on their glory uniforms
those who survive are scarred for life.

Flash backs, guilt, remorse,
haunt their lives forever more
ashamed of themselves for the horror they caused.

Death, destruction, turmoil,
vengeance must be got
another life is lost
no matter what the cost.

No longer is it land and oil
now it's personal
a never ending battle
that goes beyond defense.

Women and children slaughtered
when will this madness end
what goes around comes around
Karma has no friend.
