For all we knew we had it all,
But was the 'writing on the wall '
When one day she came with the test
Of choosing which life you'd love best?
A life of foreign plentiful
Or an ordinary one of stay-at-home.
You finally chose the latter, but left a knot
You can't untie. Your heart forgot
An unfed love can wither, and can die.
'You finally chose the latter, but left a knot You can't untie. Your heart forgot An unfed love can wither, and can die.' Marvelous poem. I love these lines most.
Interesting we all have to make the choices and stayiing at home is neally always the one for me.I sometimes wonder what wouyld of happened If I had not had children but there would probabley be other just as strong ties. a good poem always makes you think jim
Love needs constant care, a simple word and loving gesture here and there... Andrew 10
Though brief, this is a deeply moving poem, Fay, and one that reflects modern life very effectively. Of course, love between a man and woman is essentially timeless, and like a windowbox of flowers, will wither unless it is nourished by both the man and woman. Our modern marriages, usually with both people working long hours and having very busy schedules, one or the other or both in a relationship tend to neglect each other too much, often without being entirely aware of it. This quite thought provoking poem tells us perfectly what happens when one of the parties in the relationship realizes it. Carl.
How very true an unfed love will surely die. Many couples stay together out of habit long after love has died
