Ancestor Land Poem by Jade Murphy

Ancestor Land

Rating: 2.6

Back and back I go,
skimming the wild Emerald fields, wading the black satin lakes,
Back and back I go,
Landing in the kitchen, Great granny dinner makes,

Ta failte romhat go hEirinn,
cry the villagers
Ta failte romhat go hEirinn,
cry the villagers.

At night by the campfire i see,
music dancing, poteen and laughter,
Great granny, granddad, great uncle, and me,
God what a hangover the morning after.

Back to the land of my ancestors i went,
T'is a land in my heart, and i'l ne'er forget,
Back to the land of my ancestors i went,
Ireland, the most beautiful place i ever was sent!
