Anchor Of Her Soul

He caught that girl's picture like a morning sun's ray
Worth a thousand words, at least that is what they say
A beautiful young lady, a bride soon at eighteen
Many years, tears and joy were yet to be seen
Cause dreams lay waiting inside a photo's creased folds
Real treasure for a lifetime buried deep within their holds

Like a steady rock, He keeps them from slipping
Into unchartered waters and dangers unknown
The captain of all captains, keeps this ship from tipping
Their destinies on course, towards Heaven's port it's blown

Angel love in his heart, her hand in his someday
An answer to his prayer, a dream come true his way
For every seven days at a time, even months more
Hope always kept her waiting by love's promised shore
Letters came, only words at first would be in the mail
Oceans between them, everytime his ship did set sail

Now this girl of eighteen, once a lonely and scared wife
One day became thirty-eight before the end of naval life
Prayers to God to bring back the anchor of her soul
Answered when his ship did come in, then she felt whole
Time ages that young windblown sailor of their past
Kept promises remain true, forever love does last

Jesus is their captain behind the wheel, beside the mast
All the storms that threaten to toss aside, have been cast
By Him that rendered the sea quiet and made it still
He is the anchor of their souls, they trust Him and always will

These lines are universal....poet perhaps didn't try to write this poem to engrave these lines at its catastrophe. Perhaps not. These lines emerges spontaneously to give two lives a shelter where they can hold a positive hand by believe to stand straight against all adversities of time. And undoubtedly individual conception of God is that point of strength which makes us tranquil to take decision in the field of struggle of existence.

When the hours of Day are numbered,
And the voices of the Night
Wake the better soul, that slumbered,
To a holy, calm delight;

Ere the evening lamps are lighted,
