Anchor The Arch Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Anchor The Arch

To what depth,
can one reach
in search for their soul;
through what trials,
will they struggle
to finalize that goal?
How much strife,
can you endure
to continue that pace,
that which is required,
to enter that place?
From within,
there is found,
a pure center of breath;
therein is the core,
from here you began,
this broiling life struggle,
again and again.
Out of wind,
stride broken in half,
not enough life force,
left for one final laugh,
at those you left behind.

All this just to Anchor the Arch?
