And, How Pleasant Poem by Brett Rogers

And, How Pleasant

Someday.
One day …
We will sit quietly on my lime-green couch,
No knees aflutter, no nervous mouths,
Your left hand dryly inside my right
(With our outside hands free to tickle puppy ears) …
And as the Sun goes down and the Moon comes up
We will take in a family room double feature
Full of laughs and tears and back-and-forth’s on art and the human condition …
And God!
How average we will be!
