' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' 'And Never Be Forgot(For Scarlett)

Rating: 2.7

It seems I was
Stevie's poor chap

who always loved larking
& yes that was I drowning

not waving

or Breughel's Icarus
falling unnoticed into

the tiny perfect
painted waves

as the small ship's sails
billowed & set forth

life going on without me.

I either locked into those lines
or trapped forever in that painting

the light gone out
behind my eyes

unnoticed amongst
the tinsel & the laughterr

lost amongst
the cocktail chatter

as the New Year
with great gusto

is laughingly drunkenly
ushered in.
