Angel Poem by William McGehee

Angel

I heard the sound of angel feet
Moving softly ‘cross my way.
Destined briefly there to meet
Me then, but not to stay.

I heard the sound of angel words
Whispered soft in trusting tones,
Gentle things that swiftly stirred
A flame to melt my heart of stone.

I heard the sounds of angel tears
Falling free upon her cheek,
A diamond each of heavy cares:
Prayers from a spirit meek.

I heard the sound of angel laughs
From deep within her precious soul.
It swelled, it peaked and then it passed
Floating on, it left me whole.
